118605878In our twenty-first century American culture, we place high value on being able to pursue our goals and having the freedom to do whatever we want. After all, our Constitution itself gives us the right to the “Pursuit of Happiness.” And often times, we equate happiness with wealth, success, admiration, and achievement. Often times in the health-conscious nutrition and fitness communities, this idea of “happiness” includes optimum health, a fit, attractive body, and the ability to perform athletically. In fact, the pursuit of “perfect health” is what drives many people to make major lifestyle changes that greatly improve those factors that we expect to bring us happiness. Yet as many Christ-followers realize, the only thing that can ever truly bring us happiness is a relationship with God through His Son.
