When Dionne, a registered dietitian specializing in nutrition for individuals navigating the cancer journey, first started her private practice, her passion for helping people was undeniable.
However, like many healthcare professionals transitioning into business ownership, her initial model left her feeling both overworked and underpaid.
Through strategic shifts and expert guidance, Dionne transformed her practice into a sustainable, scalable business.
Here’s how she did it—and how you can, too.
Three years ago, Dionne’s business followed a familiar path for many dietitians and healthcare professionals.
She relied on a one-on-one coaching model where clients booked sessions a la carte.
While she was grateful for a steady stream of clients, the unpredictable nature of her income and the sheer volume of work were taking their toll.
“I was working a ton, but I wasn’t making much money. I felt like I was already burning out, and I didn’t know how to continue on my own.”
At that time, her revenue hovered around $5,000 a month—barely enough to justify the hours she was putting in.
Without a clear plan to scale her practice or maximize her time, Dionne knew she needed guidance.
That’s when she discovered my Nourished Business Accelerator coaching program, and everything changed!

Our first priority was to shift Dionne from a session-to-session model to a signature program.
This wasn’t about reinventing her expertise but rather organizing her process into a structured, results-oriented offer.
By creating a three-month coaching package tailored to her clients’ needs, Dionne achieved two significant wins:
This initial shift gave Dionne breathing room—both financially and mentally.
It also laid the foundation for the next phase of growth in her practice.
With her one-on-one services thriving, Dionne began exploring ways to serve more people without adding to her workload.
Together, we introduced scalable elements to her business model.
“The latest iteration of my program is really a combination of everything: my coaching, the curriculum, and group coaching. It’s all in one offer, which makes it easier to sell and deliver.”
As a registered dietitian, Dionne was committed to maintaining the highest level of care for her clients, even as her business grew.
One of the biggest misconceptions about scaling a business is that it requires you to sacrifice personal touch.
For Dionne, the opposite was true. By creating systems and support mechanisms, she could serve her clients more effectively than ever.
“People are getting way more from me now. The business supports the client, rather than just me doing all the work myself.”
This shift not only improved client outcomes but also gave Dionne back valuable time.
She now limits her direct coaching to two half-days per week, seeing no more than five clients weekly.
The rest of her time is spent refining her business and supporting her growing team.
Dionne’s journey has been nothing short of transformative.
Here’s a quick snapshot of her financial growth:
“Having this model in place has been incredible. I can serve more people, earn more money, and work fewer hours.”
One of Dionne’s most significant milestones came recently when she planned her first-ever month-long vacation.
For a healthcare professional who once felt tied to her calendar, this was a huge achievement.
“I’ve never taken a full month off before. This is the first time I can step away and trust that the business will keep running.”
With systems and a team in place, Dionne can confidently step into her CEO role, focusing on the big picture rather than day-to-day tasks.
Dionne’s success didn’t happen overnight. Her journey from one-on-one to a scalable business was the result of strategic decisions, consistent effort, and a willingness to invest in support.
Here are the biggest lessons from her story:
For registered dietitians, coaches, and other entrepreneurs considering their next steps, Dionne offers this advice:
“Don’t try to do this on your own. Investing in a coach or a mastermind can make all the difference. You can’t know everything, and having someone to guide you will save you time and energy—and help you avoid burnout.”
Dionne’s journey is proof that with the right strategy, support, and systems, it’s possible to create a business that serves both you and your clients.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to scale, her story is an inspiring example of what’s possible.
